“I will never forget this most special evening in Washington D.C.The Millennium Achievement Award…I am truly speechless that you all gave me the opportunity to speak and now this? I am highly honored to receive this prestigious award from the Salvadoran Chamber, which I admire and respect.
This achievement would not be possible but for my faith in God and my beautiful family.
No matter how much recognition we receive, we never forget where came from. We never forget our roots. We never forget the struggle. Continuing the climb, I remind myself to stay true and humble. It doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy the finer things in life, it means that I have a full appreciation for success, and I have an obligation to pay it forward to my family, my fellow small business owners, El Salvador and our country America.
I am overjoyed and most appreciative. This award is distinct and touches my heart. In my keynote address, I mention my father who always taught me to DREAM BIG.
Now, I direct my attention to mi Mama. Mi Mama means everything to me. We talk several times a day, and I spoke with her before tonight’s gala. Through it all, Mi Mama has been my rock, and tonight I dedicate this amazing award to her.
