Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce Chooses Four 2018 IWEC Awardees

Congratulations to these four successful women for being chosen by ZNCC as their 2018 IWEC Awardees!  They will all be attending the 11th Annual IWEC Conference in Shanghai from Sept. 9-12th and will accept their awards at the Gala dinner on the 11th.

Ms Chiedza Ottilia Chikomo is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Genesis Travel and Tours (Private) Limited, a leading travel management company based in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Ms Chikomo founded Genesis Travel and Tours in July 2003. She is responsible for the overall management, strategic planning and commercial development of Genesis Travel and Tours. Ms Chikomo has more than 20 years’ demonstrable experience in the local and international travel industry.

Genesis Travel and Tours has experienced phenomenal sales growth in corporate, government, leisure and Christian pilgrimage travel portfolios. Genesis Travel and Tours has received numerous outstanding industry awards since inception.

Veronica Gwatiringa, Founder, Zimbabwe Garden Seeds, www.zimgardenseeds.co.zw

Veronica Gwatiringa is the founder and Managing Director of Zimbabwe Garden Seeds which she established in 1990 and incorporated as a private company in 2005. Through hard work, focus and determination, Veronica has built the company to become the preferred supplier of vegetable seeds, crop and veterinary chemicals. The company employs 35 people of which 80% are women.  Veronica’s core values are mentoring women and giving hope to the underprivileged. She holds a Marketing Diploma through IMM and is studying towards a degree. She and her company won several awards in the Agriculture category from ZNCC WECA and Women’s Heritage.

Sikhathele trained as a teacher and was appointed headmistress of a school within 3 years due to her hard work and dedication.  She has also continued her own education and will obtain her doctorate degree from the University of South Africa November 2018.  She founded Oakleigh House Trust School in 2000.  The school has a manageable enrollment from ECD A up to Grade Seven with a commitment to maintaining an average of 25 pupils in a class.  Their curriculum ensures quality tuition that sets a solid foundation for future endeavors.

Salome Mutsinze started MTGS in 1997.  The school has now flourished to an elite Group of Schools comprising Early Childhood Development, Junior, Senior and Tertiary level soon to be established. MTGS has a rich curriculum, state of the art facilities and boarding and transport facilities.  From servicing 45 learners to over 1000 and from 2 to 150 staff members and several contractors. Salome is a diligent worker who holds a Master of Education Degree with Great Zimbabwe University.  Salome was awarded the ZNCC National Business Woman of the Year award in 2017.
